Welcome to the “team habit builder”. This is an evidence-based tool that allows teams to do two key things: first, it allows teams to better communicate about difficult topics. Second, it helps teams clarify and track new habits for team members.
The team habit builder has very similar questions to the individual habit builder. Just like the individual habit builder, we want to clarify the "toward" and "away" moves for team members. Just like the individual habit builder, we orient around values.
In teams we refer to values as “shared purpose”. The team habit builder helps us frame discussions around what will move us (as a team) toward or away from the shared purpose. This gets team members away from “right-wrong” or “good-bad” discussions. This puts everyone on the same “side”.
Finally, the team habit builder can help team members get better at noticing what internal thoughts and feelings are getting in the way of making toward moves.
